Resource: Equipment Checkout

Have a project that requires a camera or other resources that you don’t have? No need to buy them, SCAD has the resources for you! This Resource video will go through the process of checking out items at the Cage in Montgomery Hall through the website.

Below the video is additional IMPORTANT information you need to know before checking equipment out!

Pick up times: Thursdays: 2 PM to 7:45 PM

Please do not choose the 8 PM time slot, because that is when the Cage closes

You must check your equipment before you leave if not any and all missing items or damages found after your return will fall on you. You can always ask us what is supposed to be in the kit.

A late fee after you are half an hour late will be charged. If you are going to be late you can always call the equipment checkout center or email us at SAV-cageMGRS@SCAD.edu to let us know you will be late so we can push back your time so you don’t get charged.

Once you are an hour late to pick up the system will cancel your reservation and we can not bring it back up again this means we will not be able to allow you to take the equipment. This is for insurance purposes. Also, we do not approve kits until the day before they get picked up. This means on Wednesday we approve your kit so you have until Wednesday at 1 PM to edit your kit in any way. So for example say you forgot you needed a tripod it is Tuesday night at 11:50 PM when you remember you can log back into PIR and add that to your kit. If you for some reason can not add it on please email us at the email mentioned above. Once we hit approve you can not change your reservation in any way and we can not add anything to your reservation either. There are some resources that are on PIR that I recommend you come down to the cage to book like the Green Screen Room. We can book it Monday through Thursday for you as long as no classes are in it and it isn’t being used for a SCAD event. It can not be checked out over the weekend, before 2 PM, or after 8 PM. Same with the whisper booth. We can check that put Monday through Thursday but not the weekend, before 2 PM or after 8 PM. If you need any clarification please feel free to reach out.
